Julie is a self taught, full-time working Artist, living in Westville, KZN.
Working mainly in oil on canvas, her work is representative, but imbued with her own sensitivity to colour, emotion, nostalgia and atmosphere.
Julie is deeply inspired by her extensive travels in and around Southern Africa: ‘In my paintings I capture glimpses of everyday life in Africa: the vibrant colours & imagery, the chaotic atmosphere & warmth of bustling African towns. The serenity and calm of the rural people and places, and the beautiful vast open spaces of the savannah and bushveld inhabited by our magnificent wildlife.’
