Ina Millman

I share my passion for life and painting by teaching and conducting art workshops and art holidays. I am inspired by life and nature and try to capture the magic of sunlight. I am fascinated by the way light falls on an object and transforms a mundane scene into something beautiful and brilliant. Our strong African light has hugely affected the way I paint. I also like to capture a moment in time and love to paint from life.”

Ina Millman was born and raised in Johannesburg  and earned a BA degree at the Potchefstroom University for Christian Higher Education in 1974. She  always had a passion for Art and attended every workshop and Art Week possible.

In 1986 her first exhibitions in Walkerville saw her attracting a number of awards, at the annual show, for her paintings. Over the years she also participated in numerous group exhibitions with the Watercolour Society and Brush & Chisel Club at exhibitions at Norscot Manner, Rosebank and Bryanston. Hard work lead to her first solo exhibition held at Yapanis Gallery in July 2006, where she exhibited 70 paintings of which 9 paintings were sold during the course of the evening and 15 more were sold during the next two weeks.

Ina paints in many different styles, including watercolours, oils, acrylics and pastels and her work can be viewed at exclusive galleries in South Africa. She has also exhibited as far afield as Toronto, Canada and her paintings are on display in Australia, New Zealand, Germany, USA and the United Kingdom.
