Etchings etc is a VAT registered CC that was opened in 1993 as a print & stationery outlet across the parking lot from where the business is now located. Etchings was one of the original businesses to move into Park Boulevard when the center opened and it’s the oldest tenant in the center to still be operating. With time and as the demand and needs changed of the area, Etchings moved across the carpark to make way for Spar and with more space finally evolved into the business we know today.
Etchings is widely known in the greater Durban area for show casing the Art of renowned South African Artists and for its onsite, quality picture framing. Etchings has a number of regular clients, including corporates and decorators, who appreciate the hands on service Etchings offer. The Etchings’ Team prides itself in having shipped artworks and mirrors across Africa and the world.

Alan has a passion for success by providing a quality cost effective offering to clients and ensuring Clients get what they need, while at the same time staying competitive by keeping costs & overheads as low as possible
Ever since he could remember, Alan has always had a passion for the Arts & creating things from scratch. His first oil painting was bought at a church bazaar for R5.00, when he was 12!!!! The picture badly needed a new frame, which his mother paid for, costing about R30.00 in those days. The painting, of aloes, hung proudly in his mother’s house until her death. In her will Alan’s mother bequeathed him her Art, so Alan’s first work of Art he bought is back with him. Terence Stevenson took over the business with Alan, Terence has always had a flair for interior decorating and always keeps up to date with the latest furnishings, finishes and décor. So together they steadfastly provided clients with a services & Art from a new and different perspective.
Following the death of his mother, Alan was now ready to give the business his full attention. However 8 weeks after his mother’s dead, his step-mother passed away, leaving Alan to look after his elderly father who was at the time living in Cap Town.
Terence Stevenson, who tragically passed away on the 28th December 2021 will always be remembered for his contribution to the business. Terence will always be a part of those who were close to him and his talents and creativity sorely missed. May he finally be at peace with the world.
